Charlie at 'the top of the Rest' today on the way to Glasgow (again!). The Rest and be Thankful is the top of the pass between Glen Croe and Glen Kinglas. In the old days it was such an arduous climb up through the hairpins on the old road that the horses and their drivers would stop to rest, and presumably were thankful to do so! Charliexwas certainly thankful for a break from the journey and a wee run before setting off again.
