View from below

For the December Theme Challenge.

Managed to coax HH out of the house for a walk along the front this morning. He had to wander on ahead several times as I spotted potential bip opportunities. The first was a street cleaner, with quite the happiest, most beautiful smile (revealing a beautifully white and even set of teeth, I might add). That turned into quite a session, as he then asked his friend to take several shots of the two of us together. He also explained why he was wearing two (Aussie-type) sunhats. Apparently one doesn't keep out the heat, while two made a good job of it.

On to the beach, and a shot of the sand and waves through ten palm trees (December challenge in mind). There I was also distracted by some hippy types, mostly Spanish-speaking, and wound up taking a few shots and shaking a lot of hands. They were particularly proud of their Christmas tree, entirely fashioned of small cachaça bottles (cachaça being strong cane spirit). The pervasive smell bore witness to their dedication in emptying the bottles.

One more departure from our route to take the shot above, then we demurely returned home to await the arrival of yesterday's missing visiting fireman. He eventually blew in at around 3 pm, bearing HHs new laptop (oh happy day!) and blew out again about 30 minutes later.

So now I should be catching up with work, but somehow I'm not in the mood. Has to be done, though, as we're travelling in 2 weeks time. I'll never make it....
