Early start to set off to the Milford Sound for a cruise. First stop was at The Chasm, pretty cool, the Rock is so smooth and carved out by the water in random twists and turns and the water is very fast flowing. We saw a few Kea attacking the rubber on the bus (which were pretty cool). The Milford Sound is amazing such steep sides, with forest and waterfalls down to deep green/blue water which is freshwater on top of sea water. There were fur seals on the rocks enjoying the water. The cloud was so low and was very mystical and atmospheric. Beautiful place
Then we dropped the guys off who were doing the Routeburn Track (3days hard slog of walking!) before heading into Te Anu for a free afternoon which resulted in a trip to the pub and an Italian before walking back along the lake and sitting chatting in the kitchen of the hostel we were staying in until late with Kate
