Certainly an up and down day

Apologies to anybody who had already viewed today's entry - realised I had a different pic that I needed to share!

Got home to enjoy a festive tree decorating evening. Lottie was excited to show me this little statue which she had brought home from school for the evening for getting a certain number of achievement points.

Unfortunately events went downhill after that. Stuart went out to feed the guinea pigs and found that Daphne had departed for guinea pig heaven. We debated delaying telling her but decided honesty was the best policy. The result was one very upset little girl and lots of tears.

We have partly decorated the tree but it wasn't the happy occasion it usually is!
