Water Drop

Kaylee has a Math Photography Contest that she is competing in at school. In such, she must take a photograph of something math related. The image itself will then need to be explained - how it relates to math.

A quick google search for "Math Images" yielded less than impressive results and we really didn't get much help for ideas. I had wanted to try water drop photography for a while and now seemed the perfect time to learn and get Kaylee in on the action as well.

With the help of youtube, we managed the proper set-up and started the water dripping. Kaylee did ALL the work and was quick to master her timing and resulting images. We changed the backdrop multiple times, tissue paper taped to the wall, the colors are reflected in the water. She finally decided on this image to submit for the contest. I think it's a winner.

Oh, and in case you are wondering ... her explanation pertained to velocity (the speed of something in a given direction). Let's hope it's enough for her to win!
