Handicap Access

A rather strange projects is taking place on the streets surrounding our mercado, handicap ramps are being installed on all the street corners. While this in itself is a sign of progress in our small community, some of the locations leave one scratching one's head. Take the corner shown here for example. The sidewalk is so tight the construction crew couldn't even make the ramp full size, plus look at that pole a meter down the righthand sidewalk - it is almost totally blocking the sidewalk. I think this is a good idea for the wider walkways through the center of town, but really have to question converting sidewalks such as these.
