Time Travellers revisited...the real stories!
A lovely sunny day and a chance to blip the memorials of two of our village benefactors.
Rev Frederick Le Grice was vicar from 1832 until 1884. He was a man of scientific and artistic interests. It is because of his interest in photography that we have so many early photographs of our village. In our two Time Travellers promenade productions the character of Rev Le Grice has been our narrator...a fitting role for this man.
Theodore Vincent Webb born in 1820 was a major landowner in the village and a generous benefactor. He built a new school, organised a fund to restore the church and built The Reading Room which is still the centre for many village activities. A great, great (and maybe a few more greats!) niece of his wife still lives in the village and has played the role of Mrs T V Webb in both of the Time Travellers productions.
