Journey Through Time

English Estate Winery

Believe it or not, this is now surrounded by the creeping spread of Vancouver, Washington, as houses, apartments, retirement facilities, and retail establishments push and shove their way eastward. We saw this last week and we were out that way again, doing some Christmas shopping at the aforementioned retail establishments and a stop at Peet's Coffee for a hazelnut cinnamon latte and a scone. One must keep up one's strength, you know. So, my long suffering husband drove me by this place, per my nagging request, and we discovered it was a winery and you can see the 1915 red barn that houses their tasting room here.

This is on their website. We just might have to go back and actually visit the tasting room later on.

We are Vancouver, Washington’s first winery. Our founder, Carl English, first planted grapes in 1980 on land his family has owned since 1903. The winery and tasting room opened to the public in 2000.

We grow Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Semillon and Gevürstraminer on our 20 acre farm and produce fruit forward wines and nectars.

Most of our wine is sold in our popular 3 liter bag-in-box packaging which allows our customer to enjoy a glass at a time with no waste. Come into see this unique packaging system that is catching on with more and more small wineries. We also offer our wines in good old fashioned bottles.
