Feeling like a freak on a leash
Tuesday December 2nd was the day i seen two of my favorite bands play together in the same space, 40 minutes apart. In August, tickets were going on sale for the "Prepare For Hell Tour" featuring Korn, Slipknot, and King 810... As soon as i seen the presale, i bought tickets and after that... I waited 4 long months. I honeslty couldnt wait. I have been waiting to see Korn since practically the womb, and the same with Slipknot. The time came. I bundled myself up and waited in the cold for 11 hours straight. In that time, i met a ton of people. Some, i knew from other shows and others were fresh faces who i know i'll see at more shows and we'll be life long friends.
This is a picture of me and my friends Trevor and Shawn that was taken about an hour before we were let inside the building... Which is actually when they get there! After we entered the building, i was pumped. The monet was here, and OF COURSE the woman didnt know how to scan tickets... I actually grabbed the wristband and put it on myself becuase i couldnt wait for her snail like persona to do it and risk my spot in the front row... I darted down the hallway yelling "TREVOR MOVE YOUR BUTT... GO GO GO"
As i made it to the pit, it was completely empty. I seen my destination, and it was a bittersweet moment, to say the least. We were so glad we made it, and we just started hugging eachother and being overly dramatic.
"I LOVE YOU MAN"
The first band was King 810, and they borderline sucked. Can i type the word suck on there? Well, thats the only way i can explain. They were just so bad. After that was Korn. Oh. My. God. THEY WERE AMAZING. The guys were super energetic and the crowd was just great... You can hear me screaming in my videos and i dont even care. From them, i got two drum sticks (one split down the middle) and two picks from guitarists Head and Fieldy. After that was the main act, Slipknot and as we counted down the minutes, more people were piling in. Trevor and I were being the biggest fangirls you could imagine... Slipknot themselves were great. However, the crowd was awful. I understand this is a metal show, but theres no need to jam your elbows into people, rip their hair out, or try and get between us WHO WAITED 11 HOURS IN THE ARCTIC for no apparent reason... There was this one guy in particular was just horrible. First of all, he smelled horrible. Second of all, his elbows were pointy as heck, and he was just annoying me. I punched him so many times, and he even tried getting between me and Trevor! We just looked at eachother and shoved him back. No.
By the end of the show, i was beyond angry. But that was barely made up for when i met Head and Fieldy from Korn... After every show they come out and tell their story about how they were ex drug addicts and how they accepted god into their lives, and how they were going to take a picture with everyone in the room... I waited and got a picture, had them sign my drumsticks and said the stupidest thing ever.
me: ... and i just wanted to say thank you. Youre awesome.
Head: No, youre awesome.
me: i know.
WHO SAYS THAT! And then i had the nerve to ask them for a hug?! How embarressing! After that, i met Jim Root of Slipknot outside and just asked for a picture... I didnt make that big of a fool of myself that time!
