Just Giving

It's been another randomly strange day today.

It started first thing when I got dragged by a parent to see a man in the pub next door to school! It turns out that the gentleman was called Peter and is currently undertaking a sponsored walk to raise money for, and awareness of, Alzheimer's. The pub landlord and some regulars had clubbed together to pay for his food and a bed for the night.

Peter set off from St Andrew's, Scotland, in October and is hoping to have walked to Rome, Italy by February. Due to his own illnesses he was late setting off so will now be sleeping in his tent throughout winter instead of summer.

Peter gave a great assembly to the children and showed them all his kit and how it works e.g. Filtering water to drink from streams. He was really interesting.
