We have some very thoughtful friends who each year give us a little gift to mark the start of December and the ushering in of the midwinter celebrations.

It really epitomises the spirit of the phrase "it's the thought that counts"

this year, oven gloves, tea towel, and freakish looking Father Christmas pan scrub!

Joking aside though, it really is the thought that counts, and that's the most important thing to remember, ever.
