Christmas lights

Bathroom fitter arrived around 8.15am. Today he made a new loft hatch in the landing ceiling and blocked up the old hatch in the bathroom. At this stage in the proceedings I went out and left him to it. When I got back he had put the bath into place - its not plumbed in yet. He had also fitted the cupboard which will be beneath the sink and a tall cupboard by the door. He also boarded the floor and put cladding on the ceiling. Good progress is being made.

I went to Newcastle this afternoon - to the Theatre Royal to see the pantomime. It was Snow White. The audience was probably 90% schoolchildren and most of the adults there were either teachers or pensioners. The show was excellent - as it always is at the Theatre Royal. They never have any big names, soap stars etc. For the past 10 years it has been the same 4 main actors who specialise in panto. Lots of local jokes - and slagging off Sunderland always gets a good response from a Geordie audience. I got a bit wet - buckets of water were thrown at the audience and a fire extinguisher was squirted around. The kids loved it. I did too.

After the show I did a bit of shopping. Town was quite busy but not too packed. It was a cold day and then it started raining so it wasn't very pleasant walking around.

The Forum Challenge today is " From Below". I took my blip shot when I was standing below the Christmas Lights in Grey Street looking up towards the Christmas Market. The goods on offer included fudge, cheese, pies and more cheese - none of which I bought. Very tempting - but too many syns.
