Heavy Weather

2:00 p.m. on NE Broadway. Heavy, heavy rain and leaf clogged drains. I stood well back from this flooded corner in case a car came around it - the water was over the curb and onto the parking strip. I have no idea how the lady in sneakers on the opposite side negotiated the crossing but I can tell you that I was wearing my knee-high Wellingtons and that puddle came up over my ankles.

Met with the contractors to make final payment and sign off the contract on the basement work - glad that is done. Out to dinner tonight with my friend S.
