Angie's new Company Car

As one might expect in these parts, a Bavarian Mowing Wagon although normally the "Mowing" is replaced by "Muck".
Hasn't got the BMW "kidney grille" but I don't need that at the moment.

Have at long last put all the bits together. Somewhat "agricultural/rustic" but not a surprise. Seems very loud but has a great turning circle. Compared to the last one looks huge, more like a Rolly Royce than a Mini.

For those who mourne the loss of these two makes to the Bavarians, don't forget the very first BMW car was nothing other than an Austin Seven, built under licence, termed the BMW 3/15 (Dixi), first produced in 1927. The first ever vehicle to carry the BMW Logo was the R32 motorcycle from 1923.

A few days ago I mentioned a Brit, Sir Benjamin Thompson, who had founded Munich's huge English Garden. On researching the massage business mentioned yesterday, was facinated by the street name where it is based "Rumford Strasse". Turns out Count Rumford is none other than Sir Ben. Took the time to read his full C.V. Quite incredible what he got up to, especially here in Bavaria.

From designing underwear for the soldiers, chief of the army and police, building almshouses for the poor, coming up with a revolutionary soup recipe "The Rumford Soup" for the "soup kitchens", improving fireplaces, inventing a kitchen cooker range, he had the time to start on the park for the benefit of the ordinary citizens.

In the UK, apart from all his scientific work, he played a big role in cleaning up London's air with a new design for chimneys.

A fascinating person. Just proves once again that Europe belongs together in a loose entity of seperate borderless nations encouraging the interchange of ideas and experiences.

A footnote on Monday's Blip. "Herpes", as MrB calls them, and the test of their parcel shipment performance. Started great, tracking it within a few hours and on Tuesday it was further along the line ..... and since then "Zilch". Seems that the Hermes brand new mega hub in Warrington UK, had a fire and packages are delayed up to 5 working days. Apparently no parcels damaged. None of this is shown on any Hermes site I can find, the first hint was seen on Parcel2Go Ireland's tracking site.

As Nogbad repeatedly tells me "Read" the small print. Hermes was not only messenger to the Gods but also a trickster, patron of thieves and inventor of fire. Some never learn.
