Lindsay's lot

butterfly bush

there's something reassuring about the new shoots of a buddleia in December. A confirmation that after the dim still days of winter that everything will start anew, soon followed by a riot of colour and a frenzy of insect activity. I'm especially pleased that this buddleia is in such rude health, grown to monster proportions in our modest back yard, untouched for 3 years. The flower colour is quite unlike any other buddleia I've seen and they're big, attracting a host of butterflies and bees. I'm looking forward to seeing the flowers wave in the summer air.
