On the Dava
Another glorious day! The Dava is an upland moor, at this point about 1500'. Despite a road right across it, it is still quite a wild area. This lochan, Loch an Eilean had three Whooper Swans on it today. The corrugated iron roofs in the background belong to a bothy called Heather Bell. It was occupied until about six years ago by an elderly man. There was no sanitation and the water supply came from a burn outside. The hill in the background is Braemoray.
