Definitely an adolescent now...
The local cygnets (see previous blip) are developing fast, and are shedding their grey feathers in favour of more white ones. I thought maybe they would reach full adulthood soon, but apparently it generally takes about 4 years for them to do so (and to start mating - usually with a single partner for life). This one still seems to stay near its parents, although I've read that when they are about 6 months old the adults cut their parental ties and chase them away. I'll watch out to see if this happens in this case!
