Maryhill Basin Lock 22

Today I was lucky enough to see swans flying over Lock 22. They came up so quickly behind me, giving a honk as they passed overhead. I did not get a good shot but they flew in a great arc and I could see they were returning so was better prepared for them. On my way back I spotted a heron flying into the basin and walking along the edge to take up a stance beside the water. How lucky is that!
