Only Child

A went to a sleepover birthday party so we had just E for the night. It always feels odd when we have just one kid at home - we are so used to being a little unit of 4! We had a great evening with E, though. First we took him to a nickel arcade, which he LOVED. Skeeball was his favorite - and mine too. Then we let him pick a restaurant for dinner, and he chose The Old Spaghetti Factory. Even though he knew where A was and that she would be gone until morning, he kept asking when she would be home, and commenting on how she'd be so excited to see the things he won at the arcade (a huge gumball and a little plastic parachute guy). It was sweet.
