Weight and balance

Weight and balance is quite important in aviation. If the aircraft is too heavy or the load isn't distributed correctly things get bent or go out of control. It isn't really complicated but somehow getting it right takes an inordinate amount of time. I have spent most of today and all of yesterday trying to sort it out for our three latest aircraft. All was not dull paper work though. I did get to spend three hours flying a brand new helicopter over Pennsylvania.
