Sunset over Cardiff Bay
Yesterday afternoon. Back in the city where I used to work and live. First time back in 2.5 years. The Bay was famously a tidal area and so a massive barrage was built to permanently keep in the water. Tiger Bay, as it was also known, was the biggest coal export docks in the world.
Many thanks for comments on yesterday's Wall. I was interested in your reactions and how that you'd all hoped - and assumed - such walls no longer exist. I watched a BBC "Our World" report on a "facility" in Guatemala, where rape and abuse from armed guards is common. It is a total disgrace.
Not here? Well, razor-wire is not a Victorian invention so my wall has had it added it since and as some of you already know, I, myself was behind that wall. On and off, for many months. My condition is for life, I live with it. I cannot work my way out of it and out of 'poverty'. Whilst we are left to live and fend for ourselves, this Government is eroding that by cutting back on mental health services - all the best staff leave, they hate the 'system' more than we do, as they know it is failing - and cut back after cut-back in benefits that allow people like me to live independently. I despair.
After my posting yesterday and this documentary, I became overwhelmed and so have had to get away. I should turn comments off as my interaction will be limited, at best. But, to be honest, in my world where often I will not feel able to speak to somebody all day, all your comments mean so much to me.
