A Day At A Time.

Blinded By The Light

Revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night.....

I have always wondered how that line went.

This morning we were blinded by science as an extremely eminent astrophysicist told us why there is unlikely to be life in the universe any more intelligent than us, (which was a bit depressing if I'm honest!).

Then tonight it was the bright lights of the Sixth Form Show. And really good fun it was too.

The pupils performed a variety of sketches, both original and copied, some adapted for their audience, some not.

Highlights for me were the Synchonised Swimming Team (hilarious), an adaptation of the "I look down on him" sketch, which I can remember being on the Frost Report in the mid '60s and featuring John Cleese, Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett, and the sketch by Rowan Atkinson and Angus Deayton about the pupil who was beaten to death (that was funny - really!).

The tears were rolling down our faces and the 90 plus minutes flew by.

Now we have a long weekend to enjoy and the forecast is unbroken sunshine for all of it.
