A Frozen Landscape

Dear Diary,

I made it as far as the back porch late in the day yesterday to make a photograph of my frozen backyard before it is again transformed by the coming storm. The freezing rain we had a few days ago coated the snow with a thin veil of ice and made it smooth and shiny. The Rose of Sharon I planted this fall, with a few seed pods still on it's delicate stems, looks like it is enveloped in whipped cream!

As I write this, the snow is again falling and they say it may turn to ice as the temperatures rise a bit. Looks like another day of home confinement for me. Good thing I have a wonderful book to entertain me and I may get out my Brother Cadfael dvd's that I mentioned yesterday and do a marathon this afternoon! I little trip back to medieval England might be just the ticket!

"Go where you were sent, bear what you were condemned to bear, and look for meaning," said Cadfael, "For so must we all."
