Wondered why everyone was looking at the sky

Serendipity! Went to Brighton beach to see another spectacular sunset and saw loads of people gathering... I thought to watch it too. Suddenly - from my left, and the Palace Pier, flew an enormous flock (murmuration) of starlings. Absolutely breathtaking. They must have decamped from the old, burnt down West Pier. Brought tears to my eyes... and then there was the sunset. Good to be alive.
