Prom night

It's my dear sister's birthday today.

I'm not allowed to say how old but there is a zero involved.

It's not that she is afraid of reaching her half century, far from it; she has totally embraced it.

It seems she and her friend misinformed someone a while back into believing this birthday was 3 years ago.

I think they should just confess to Simon Mayo and the forgiving collective!

My sister did not have a Prom when she left school and with her daughter surely about to have one next year, she did not want to miss out.

So tonight my dear sister has been The Prom Queen, complete with throne....

There was also a stretch limo for 8 ladies, a "paperazzi" photographer, fancy frocks and dinner suits.

Great music, great food, hilarious speeches and wonderful company.

Unfortunately we had to leave early (and sober) because we are heading to Oxford tomorrow to collect Adam from his first term at university.

With a birthday party and Adam home can the weekend get any better?
