Eye

The Wellcome Institute has a video of a huge 'pixelated' pair of eyes looking out onto the street, sometimes blinking, mostly watching. From close up they are abstract but from the other side of Euston Road you can watch people walk past them, oblivious.

My train journey into London this morning to meet a group of friends I studied with long ago was seriously delayed by a points failure. Thousands of us stood on platforms and walkways staring down the tracks in hope of a train. The sad result was that, fun as it was to catch up with my friends, I had no time in today's sun.

But once we parted, I walked some of the way back to Paddington past empty offices in the evening light.
