On Roupell Street...
...where the old meets the new.
This has to be one of my all time favourite streets in London. With a long row of the loveliest tiny Georgian terraced houses running East towards Bankside, it has the fantastic Konditor and Cook bakery at the Waterloo end and a rather lovely little pub called The Rose and Crown around the corner in Paris Gardens at the other. And of course a block of modern high rise flats going up above. This is about two thirds of the way down and shows the corner with Theed Street. All the front doors in this area are painted in very striking colours and (check out the estate agents web sites) have pretty courtyard gardens.
Went to see Aged P who seemed quite happy; we watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets together, which she described as a bit dull and unimaginative. JK Rowling is probably wailing in distress as I write. Then went back to London to meet TSM at The Yoga Mama's flat and then drove on to Hatch End for a rather wonderful evening of eating and talking with a large group of friends. All very nice for creating a pre-festive season sense of goodwill. Rolled in at nearly one a.m.
Good day.
