It is better to give than receive ...

This morning I gave a talk at St Mary's Shenfield. This is a full, friendly church, traditional, bustling & active. They sometimes have 30 children & 40 adults in the crèche showing the age range they accommodate. Today was their toy service with gifts donated to Norway House. And what a lot of gifts were brought by families.

Norway House, was given to the UK by Norway during the war and was then past to Epping Forest Council to house homeless people and families. The hostel has around 40 rooms with shared kitchen, bathroom and toilet facilities with a further 10 chalets with shared facilities in the grounds. According to their website they run a

‘Stay & Play’ Parent and Toddler group providing a place for the children to run around, have fun and make friends. For parents these sessions are light relief away from their room and a chance to have a cuppa, play with their children and socialise with other families.

They regularly need toys for children of all ages as their clients often turn up with nothing.
