The Eglwyseg Rocks
The Eglwyseg Rocks is a 4.5-mile limestone escarpment near Llangollen in Wales. It sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and is both a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Landscape of Special Scientific Interest.
From here you can see the ruins of Castell Dinas Bran, where King Arthur is reputed to have buried the Holy Grail and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, one of Thomas Telford's masterpieces and the highest navigable aqueduct in the world.
It's a spectacular place and presents itself on a vast scale. But sometimes the real beauty is in the detail.
