The pianist

The Finnish Independence Day was celebrated this day also here in Uppsala, Sweden, at the Uppsala Cathedral. Both a singer and instrumental musicians from Finland were there, and also my choir, of course!

The singer, Susann Joki, was excellent! The Finnish musicians Iikka Kotaja (my blip object today) and Henrik Sandås (bandoneon) were amazing to listen to and to sing with, as well!

My choir singing Finlandia.

Below: a couple of videos with Iikka Kotaja, Henrik Sandås and Tanguedia Quintet & Sinfonietta Lentua (at the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival in Finland):
Lentuardo which was performed by Iikka and Henrik today.
Satumaa, a traditional Finnish piece of popular music, performed in a less traditional way.

The instrument bandoneon - you can find more information on Henrik's website.
