Manyal Palace

Just spent a couple of hours in the Gold Room at the Manyal Palace attending the launch of a limited edition book that is being sold for 22,500EGP (That's about $4,000). Not my proudest moment but I really had no choice in the matter. The location, while very fitting for the event, made me feel like I had gone into anaphylactic shock the moment I walked in.

This photo was taken before the event itself had started, and this man was helping bring in the boxes of books, one of which is probably worth about 75 times what he makes in a month.
