West End Has Faith
This evening I have been to my first carols service style event of this season. Now I love a carol service, the atmosphere, the candlelight, the tradition, the harmonies and descant lines bus tonight was something different.
A few years ago a couple of performers who call themselves Christians decided to begin pulling together their friends and colleagues to put on a Christians in the West End event of some kind. This evening was one such event. Incarnation, an event celebrating the message of Christmas, that a little baby born in first century Israel might grow up to die on a cross and become the save people and bring them into relationship with the God who created the universe. Tonight was a celebration of this with a theatrical twist.
Many of the performers are working or have worked professionally in the theatre industry and it was a jog to join in singing 'O Come, All Ye Faithful' with them at the end of the evening.
Also in attendance was Martha Collison, you know the youngest ever Great British Bake Off contestant.
It was a great theatrical way to start the Christmas celebrations!
