Wild day on the water

Mid week I was asked if I could crew this weekend and I said yes before checking the weather forecast. Today was 30knots of wind with hail, sleet and snow. It was wild. Managed 11kts boat speed in a 30 foot boat. Not bad and only one big broach with the kite. Some amazing light. Just couldn't photograph as was working flat out and the deck was very wet. Got home, changed and dry to then head to the pub for a catch up with a girl friend. Good chat a few glasses of wine. Then entered the pub quiz. Good fun and managed to come last. A good sunday all in all. Forgot to say last in quiz but first in the race. Maybe I haven't forgotten how to sail. Just maybe need to get fitter. As will wake tomorrow with lots of bruises and maybe a wee bit of a fussy head. Sunday rock and roll.
