The Little Cellist. Leitz Elmar 135mm.
We went down to a nearby shopping mall this afternoon. It turns out a local music school had staged a little concert of their students right there. The ages ranged from about six to adult with this little chap being the youngest that I saw. They brought out a special little chair for him, no music stand necessary - he had the music all in his head. I love the pint-sized cello with the positions marked with string for his fingers. The other kids were dressed up in their concert finery but not our little prodigy here: he had his best step-out dockers on and the look of complete concentration says it all. He stole the show! We may be looking at the next Yo-Yo Ma... I was fascinated to note that, except for one, all the students were Asian - performing the dead white people's music at that.
