Museum Piece

A day to kill so we went to the helicopter museum just down the road for a bit of a bus man's holiday. This was one of the exhibits - a Robinson R22. It isn't really a museum piece because they still make these. But I have flown four of the helicopters types on display. I have been very privileged to have flown some classic helicopter types - the Bell 47 made famous in MASH, the Bell 206 and the S61 (H3) Sea King type. But without the Robinson, I doubt I would be doing what I'm doing now. These little things are pretty cheap to run, fairly robust and a lot of fun. You just have to handle them with care. They are a far cry from what I'll be flying tomorrow.
