Invader
Muntjac are overrunning chunks of southern and middle England. We even get them in our suburban garden ruining treasured plants. This one is in some nearby woods. They were brought to a country estate (Woburn Abbey) around 1925. Some either escaped or were deliberately released and are now an established inhabitant of much of our countryside.
They all have muscular hindquarters and can move fast, I understand they are edible . . . . but I have not tested this.
Short antlers like this one has denote it is male.
