Water jugs
I presented at an event in Nizwa, the old capital of Oman. During a break for prayer, I admired these old pots hanging outside the hall.
An Omani colleague told me how they used it store drinking water in them. They were held upside down over frankincense before boiled water was poured in through a cloth. A new cloth was placed over the neck of the pot and hung on a wall for folks to help themselves to a drink.
Some older people still drink their water this way believing the pot gives up some useful nutrients.
Of course these particular pots and purely decorative. Anyway, we can just pull a plastic bottle out if the fridge.
