Across The Cultural Divide

Sweeties from Mum. Jaffa Cakes for Kazuko, jellies for Valerie and Arthur, Turkish Delight to share between us and, today's blip, Pontefract Cakes for me. I LOVE liquorice, especially Pontefract Cakes. However, I have never met a Japanese person who likes liquorice. Valerie took a nibble and almost threw up. Kazuko hates it. And Arthur ....... liked it! Well, he is only half-Japanese, after all.
