A cold day but a warm heart...
Brrrrrrrrr! It wasn't quite as cold as yesterday but I was still relieved to be working from home again today. I barely slept at all last night with a nose that would not blow. I had to breathe through my mouth for a while - what a lovely sight that must have been! - and would then jolt alert with a cough or swallowed spider. I am joking about the spider but apparently we all swallow a couple per year....
I will try to sleep sitting up tonight to see if things improve and have let them know in the office that I won't bother coming in at all this week. I'm sure no one wants me spluttering and sneezing at them all day. At least I won't bother anyone here as I'm well able to offend people via email!
One user in Adult Social Services who will remain strictly anonymous here was in touch again first thing unable to log into Oracle. I checked the account and could see that he'd been locked out (again) after three failed attempts. I reset the password and emailed new details only to get a message back saying he still couldn't get in. I told him to close ALL his session windows which he said he had, before trying again.
He was clearly lying and I ordered him to reboot his machine. He then implied that there was something the matter with the way I had altered his details. If I had been able to reach through my screen and alter his balls as well as his details I would have done so! Just as I was about to ring him up at the climax of my irritation, I was saved by Tesco Man appearing on his white charger Actually, it was a blue and white van but you get the idea...
By the time I got back in touch, the annoying person had done as I'd instructed and was logged in and working. I expect I'll have the same silliness tomorrow.
Nothing else happened to make me feel murderous thank goodness. I was invaded by starlings today and rather liked these two. The birds seemed more excited by unfrozen water today and were swimming and splashing as if it was the middle of summer.
Go large
That's it for now as I'm shattered.
