Dawn breaks at Hackney
With a view over the rooftops to Stratford where Anish Kapoor's Olympic sculpture can just be seen.
Day 2 of my culture trip,in London. First up was Anselm Kiefer at the Royal Academy. This was to be the highlight of the trip and I was really blown away by his pictures. This was the rest of the schedule:
National Portrait Gallery: Taylor Wessing. Wouldn't have liked to be the judge. Great portraits, but none quite as good as last year's winner.
Grayson Perry on Identity. 14 fantastic pieces.
Late Rembrant at the National Gallery. Great exhibition, if crowded. (I enjoyed it much more than the Turner.)
Landscape Photographer of the year exhibition at Waterloo station. A poor space for this exhibition. Lack of lighting made it hard to see some of the pictures properly.
