Late Afternoon.
52 of these ships arrive each day at Dover`s Eastern Docks. 41 from Calais and 11 from Dunkirk. And then go back again. Hundreds of gulls following. A man and his dog on the promenade (A Doverian ?) told me in the am the gulls are from France, whilst in the pm the gulls are from Kent. He then went on to talk about the French foxes and English foxes meeting half way in the Chunnel and having a right old mating ---. At this stage I said I had a urgent dental appointment to attend.
