'Farewell - Alex Legg'
Today the Hills music community, friends and family of the incredibly talented Alex Legg came together to farewell a man that had touched all of their lives in a profound way. The service was packed full of hundreds of people all paying their last respects to Alex, and the three pictured here sang and played one of Alex's songs during the service. It was extremely heartfelt and moving and a brilliant tribute to a person that they obviously had the upmost respect and love for. I'm sure he would have been a very proud man if he could have seen and heard the way everyone spoke about him, his son Angus read a particularly moving letter that he'd written for his father and it sounds like Angus might well be following in his fathers footsteps as he had recorded a song which was played during the service also.
A sad day for everyone that knew and loved him, but a celebration of his life and legacy followed afterwards at Kelly's Bar & Restaurant in Olinda, where Alex hosted open mic nights every Wednesday night. There was a who's who of local musicians all lined up to play a few songs each and I'm pretty sure that the celebrations will be continuing into the wee hours of tomorrow morning where there will be a few sore heads around.
R.I.P Alex.
