A Christmas Favourite!

What a day .... winter arrived with a vengeance ..... wind, rain and lastly hailstones which very quickly turned everything white. I spent most of the morning in the kitchen making shortbread for a Christmas Celebration tonight. While the shortbread was in the oven I watched out the kitchen window looking for signs of activity at the bird feeders. During a calmer spell of weather the starlings and sparrows were back and so was the squirrel but he was content to pick up seeds and nuts dropped by the birds. Then I spotted the robin on the gravel ... he made no attempt to join the others at the feeders being happy to peck around on the ground.
