St Cuthbert woz 'ere

This is St Cuthbert's cow, apparently, and the legend says that he built Durham Cathedral where the cow sat down.. so obviously, they had to put the statue of the cow somewhere else.

Anyhow, it is a lovely piece of sculpture and the slanting rays of the morning sun were warming the bronze so it felt very nice to the touch.

There is a band-stand, a swing, and some dissused public toilets close by, which prevent the would-be photographer from taking any angle but this one.
