Reckless

Emily was given two tickets for The Pretty Reckless at the O2 Academy in Glasgow tonight by her brother for Christmas. The plan was originally for them to go together, but due to him getting a job overseas it was up to me to take the helm!

I used to be a massive rock fan, even in a band that screamed rather than sang, but I often wonder about where rock music is these days. It seems like festivals like Download are for people like me who just want to reminisce over the bands they used to listen to when they were 14. And of course the people who do still listen to them.

But generally how do you experiment with rock music and still be listenable yet fresh at the same time? I suppose that's why the mercury awards are there, to route out innovation. Though it's rare to find a rock band on there.

Enough about that though.. it was a great night! We headed off to the Art School, an old haunt with a fresh face, for a few drinks and a to throw a couple of moves before bed.
