Carve-up
The Great Lines is a beautiful open space between Chatham and Gillingham. It's about five minutes' walk from my home and I often go there for a walk when I just feel like getting out of the house. It's also a Site of Nature Conservation Interest and home to skylarks, meadow pipts and many other species of birds and insects.
The Lines have remained unchanged in their natural state for the whole of my lifetime. Until now. Medway Council have decided that the area can be 'improved' by the addition of several very ugly tarmac footpaths. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they start building further 'attractions' for our 'enjoyment'. Idiots.
I suppose they have to spend our council tax on something.
