Hawaiian Palm
Bought me this Hawaiian Palm. This magnificent plant is in the wild unfortunately on the verge of extinction. A group of scientists and enthusiasts collaborating with IUCN (The world conservation Union) has started a rescue programme sot save the plant. IUCN is working with the Dutch company Plant Planet, specialized in breeding and marketing of houseplants, to grow and sell Hawaiian Palms. For each plant sold, a donation is made to IUCN to support its work and the conservation of this plant and other threatened plant species in the Hawaiian Islands.
Thought this might be a good cause. And I like the leaves. Almost looks like a lettuce on a trunk.
