Sheepish Cloud
A lovely evening at Aoife's place with my cousin and fellow filmmaker/editor, Fiachra and his brother Rhys. Fiachra is heading over to London to do some intern work for a few weeks. On the verandah behind the house, I started taking shots of the dusk and twilight through the trees. Then I noticed those tiny bumps on the crest of a nearby hill. Cows I thought. But when I climbed across a ditch and to get a better shot I saw that they were sheep. I walked over a couple of fields as they retreated en masse, as sheep do. Fiachra went with me, both of us enchanted by the vividness of the cold winter colours: orange thinning to luminous airy blue, streaks of pink cloud, a bright chip of moon and, when we turned, the Christmassy lights of the nearby town, Blessington.
