Viaduct Sky

The Boyne Viaduct is less than a mile from my hotel and dominates the view looking east. Built in 1855, previously passengers from Dublin to Belfast had to walk from a station on the south side through the town and up to a corresponding station on the north side of the valley or vice versa. Quite a trek!

It's a very imposing structure close up and will no doubt feature again in a blip before long.

I'm looking forward to St Paddy's day tomorrow which is a public holiday here. I'm off into Baile Atha Cliath or Dublin to the rest of us, for a few more snaps :)
