Among The Stacks

Today I'm helping Tony to make room in his study by transferring some of his books to the shelves in the living room. It's one of those jobs that's good to work on at this time of year, when the weather doesn't tempt one to go out much. It's a truly impressive collection of books, not only on Dickens but the Victorian world in general. I sometimes lose sight of the fact that he is a very respected scholar and this is his working library - even if it does overflow at times into all corners of the house!
